Protective Security Centre: Consultancy (PSC)

Who we are

Hosted by the Home Office, the Protective Security Centre: Consultancy (PSC) is one of 5 Government Security Centres (GSeCs).

Our objective

Our objective is to help departments to improve their personnel and physical security standards and reduce risks through a combination of gateway services, capability building and thought leadership work.

Services we offer departments

Advice and guidance

We deliver services, capability building and thought leadership to drive down physical and personnel security risks to government.

We work with clients across government to understand their security profiles and build bespoke support to address their security needs. We know that our clients know their risk areas better than anyone. We blend that local knowledge with our cross-government insights to deliver tailored support that meets client needs, helping them access best practice from across the security sector.

Examples of a consultancy service we have recently provided include:

  • Support to set up an insider risk stakeholder group.
  • Security culture discovery and evaluation.
  • Support and creation of personnel security policies.
  • Creation of guidance documents.
  • Advising on Martyn’s Law obligations.
  • Individual training pathways to embed NPSA’s ‘Protective Security Risk Management’ best practice model.
  • Advising on recommendations reducing physical security risks across the Government estate.
