Arrange independent assurance
Councils who would like to assure their organisational self-assessments by 31 March 2025 can book independent assurance through MHCLG.
Assure your organisational self-assessment
MHCLG is inviting councils who would like to assure their organisational self-assessment by the end of the current financial year to email CAFassurance@localdigital.gov.uk by Friday 20 December 2024.
MHCLG will arrange independent assurance through our contract with Bridewell.
Resources will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. If there is availability, a member of the assurance team will contact you to arrange an introduction. Find out about the independent assurance process.
If you do not think you can complete your assessment in time, you may still be able to book assurance at a later date. Email CAFassurance@localdigital.gov.uk to let us know when you think you might be ready.
Assure your critical systems self-assessment
We plan to publish further guidance on how to assure your critical systems self-assessment in spring 2025.

About the independent assurers
Assurance is provided by Bridewell (formerly Arculus) who are assured under the NCSC assurance scheme. They are under contract with MHCLG through the Cyber Security Service 3 agreement, which includes rigorous data protection requirements.
Bridewell have been through MHCLG cyber onboarding, which includes validating Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO27001 and ISO9001 certifications.
