The Government Security Profession Career Framework

The Career Framework (CFW) brings together all the skills and roles for the four security specialisms. You can identify what level of skill is required for a role and what transferable skills you may have.

You can build your professional confidence, by matching your capability to the skills level required for your role, whilst building your skills set for your next career move, either sideways, to deepen your skills base, or upwards.

Anyone can use and benefit from the CFW. If you are an experienced security professional, you can use the CFW to support your continued professional development. If you are new to security or curious about the profession, the CFW will help you identify what skills you need to develop for the profession, as well as the transferable skills you may already have.
